Follow the instructions in this help article if you are using an analytics tool like Google Analytics and would like to see the visits coming from your N.Rich campaigns.
N.Rich campaign tracking and third-party analytics tools
N.Rich uses a set of URL tracking parameters to differentiate visits coming from our platform. The tracking parameters used in your advertising campaigns can be found here.
While different parameters are used (to identify audiences, traffic source and campaigns), the landing page URL will time contain at least one parameter with the value “=nrich”.
If you are using a third-party analytics tool and can set it up to segment your traffic based on landing page URLs and what they contain, you should be able to apply a filter to the URL so that only pages with the query string/tracking parameters that contain the word “nrich” are shown.
This will effectively give you a view of all visits and user engagements that originated from our platform and advertising ecosystem. The section below details how to set this up in Google Analytics.
Google Analytics Reporting Setup
Here is a walkthrough video to help you setup the proper reporting:
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) allows you to customize its standard reports with filters, enabling you to focus on specific traffic segments like those containing a particular query string (e.g., nrich). Below is a step-by-step guide:
1. Access the Traffic Acquisition Report
Log in to your GA4 property.
Navigate to Reports in the left-hand menu.
Under the Acquisition section, click on Traffic acquisition.
2. Customize the Report
At the top-right corner of the Traffic Acquisition report, click Customize report (pencil icon).
This opens the report editor.
3. Add a Filter to the Report
Scroll down to the Filters section.
Click Add filter.
Dimension: Select Landing page + query string.
Match type: Select contains.
Value: Enter "=nrich".
Save the filter.
4. Save the Customized Report
After adding the filter, click Save at the top of the report editor.
You can choose to Save as new report to create a new custom report.
If you create a new report, go to Reports > Library, and add your new custom report to the navigation menu.
5. Access the Filtered Data
Return to the new custom Traffic Acquisition report you just created.
The data displayed will now include only traffic where the landing page query string contains nrich.
Advantages of This Approach
1. Unsampled Data
Unlike custom explorations or BigQuery exports, this method uses the standard GA4 reporting infrastructure, ensuring that the data is unsampled and accurate (as much as possible)
2. Full Report Features
You retain all features of the Traffic Acquisition report, such as:
Segmentation by source, medium, or campaign.
Easy comparisons between different traffic sources.
Use of additional filters and breakdowns for deeper insights.
3. Ease of Access
Team members can access the report directly from the GA4 interface without requiring advanced knowledge of custom explorations or data exports.
4. Efficiency
The filter can be reused without requiring complex setup or ongoing maintenance, making it efficient for regular use.
5. Customizable Reporting
You can further modify the report to include additional filters or dimensions (e.g., source/medium or specific events) to match your business needs.
FAQs
Why are the visits reported in my analytics tool different from what’s reported in N.Rich?
N.Rich and third-party analytics tools use proprietary tracking technologies that differ in definitions, methodology, configuration, and filtering rules. This inherently results in variations in reported numbers. Please read this knowledge base article for more information.
How can I remove N.Rich visits from Gogole Analytics Reports (and channel stats)?
Add a Filter to your Report excluding N.Rich visits:
Scroll down to the Filters section.
Click Add filter.
Dimension: Select Landing page + query string.
Match type: Select does not contain.
Value: Enter "=nrich".
Save the filter.
